John F. Willcock Group Editor, Global Turnaround & Global Forensics
John Willcock is the editor and publisher of Global Turnaround, the leading monthly magazine focusing on international turnarounds, restructurings and insolvencies.
Since launching Global Turnaround in 1999 John has built it into the leading independent source for news, analysis and comment on corporate crises and rescues; who is doing the deals, and how they are doing them.
Throughout the present global economic downturn, from the first signs of the credit crunch, through the financial meltdown that saw Lehman Brothers fail, to the current continued global uncertainty that sees the West mired in ‘near depression,’ Global Turnaround has featured the turnaround managers, financial advisers and lawyers at the forefront of the rescue culture.
In 2006, John launched a second monthly magazine, Global Forensics, aimed at bringing together the forensic accountants with the lawyers, regulators and corporates that commission their work. Global Forensics has charted the relentless rise of corporate fraud around the world and the fight against it. As business goes digital, fraudsters and organised criminal gangs have followed their lead, prompting the growth of forensic IT departments as well as other news areas like e-discovery.
John, 50, set up Global Turnaround after fifteen years as a financial journalist writing for a range of newspapers in the UK, including The Times, The Guardian and The Independent. He has also written and broadcast about insolvency and restructuring for the BBC, Eurofenix, INSOL World and Recovery magazine and is a regular speaker at international restructuring and turnaround conferences around the world.
