About Global Turnaround
About Us
Global Turnaround is a unique forum for all constituencies who operate in different insolvency regimes and want to know more about them. The magazine keeps you up to date with who is doing the deals and how they are doing them, in an easy to read format.
Global Turnaround is completely independent, with no advertising or sponsorship. It is wholly owned by JFW Media, a company set up eight years ago by the Group Editor, John Willcock.
JFW Media also publishes the market leading magazine Global Forensics, for forensic accountants with the lawyers that advise corporates on fraud and related risk issues.
John Willcock is the Group Editor and leads a team of experienced journalists in the UK and US. He has over 25 years experience reporting on troubled companies, fraud and insolvency, and is in constant contact with senior executives and top movers in leading firms around the world.
History
Mr Willcock is one of the world’s leading journalists specialising in restructuring, bankruptcy and forensic accounting. He has covered major international business collapses and frauds for newspapers including The Times, The Independent and The Guardian, as well at the BBC, Recovery magazine and INSOL World.
He also contributes to the World Bank's Global Insolvency Law Database (GILD) and is a regular speaker at conferences around the world.
Mr Willcock's experience reaches back to the collapses of BCCI, Polly Peck and Maxwell in the early 1990s, which combined insolvency with fraud. He launched Global Turnaround in 1999 to provide a forum for company rescue and insolvency specialists who deal with international companies.
Business had gone global but insolvency regimes remained national. This created a global community of business advisers and investors who specialised in dealing with the problems of companies with operations in more than one jurisdiction.
Global Turnaround has covered the big collapses like Enron, WorldCom and Parmalat. It was a natural progression therefore to launch a magazine for the forensic accountants and lawyers who deal with these corporate frauds and who work to prevent them.
JFW Media launched Global Forensics in October 2006. It immediately established itself as the only publication which unites forensic accountants with the lawyers that advise corporates on fraud and related risk issues, whether as in-house counsel or litigation partners in law firms. It is also the only magazine to treat the industry as a global marketplace. Global Forensics tracks the major national and international regulators and agencies that fight financial crime.
